Mammography is radiography from the soft tissue of the breast by X ray for determining the existence of masses, kists, etc. In this method the breast is gently located within two compact isinglass shaped sheets and the picture of its tissues is registered in radiography film. Today for the preventive studies in gynecology, the standard method for studying the breast in women older than 40 is the annual performance of mammography.
